Our Hand-Iron Perm, known as ‘Rod-free and Band-free Perm,’ is one of the most innovative products developed by our unique technology that makes it possible to create any type of hair waves without rod and rubber band in less time than it takes to apply wave perm in a conventional manner. It is basically classified as a type of cold perm generally used to create volume or wave in hair or to keep untamed hair in control.
The product name, ‘Hand-Iron Perm,’ originates from the fact that the fore- or middle finger or both of one hand may be used to create curls in hair instead of curling iron. Please refer to the video clip available upon request.
Our perm formula includes self-molding permanent agent comprising;
(a) a reducing composition containing reductive agents displacing disulfide bonds between cysteine in hair as well as a molding stimulant
inherently functioning to fix a hair design
(b) a molding composition induced to react with the molding stimulant
(c) a softening composition neutralizing the action of a molding stimulant.
The pressing method characterized by rod-free and band-free technique;
(1) overcomes disadvantages of the conventional method (described below) that needs to wear hair curling devices such as perm rods
tangled with rubber bands; and,
(2) makes it very convenient to apply a wave set since any hair curling device is not necessary to use. Instead of hair curling devices,
either a rolling stick or a finger can be used to create any type of hair wave. After creating hair wave as desired, let the self-molding
perm agent do its work for the hair wave to be fixed during the application.
Some Risk Factors in the Conventional Wave Perm Process
Basically, it is impossible to apply a wave set on hair without a perm rod and a rubber band.
First, this procedure may have hair plucked or may cause red spots on the scalp because hair is strongly pulled down and forcibly tied with curling devices such as perm rods and rubber bands. Also, it may decrease in the elasticity of hair by displacing disulfide bonds between cysteine. As a result, hair gets easily broken and injured.
Second, the undesired groove on the hair being curled can be created not only because a perm rod is compressed by mechanical force, but also because a rubber band is placed right on the hair in order to hold a perm rod. As a result, the curling devices tightly tangled with the hair might cause pains in the root of the hair, preventing hair wave from being set in a desired mode.
Third, the undesired grooves redundantly created by curling devices may disturb the formation of a natural wave on the hair.
Fourth, severe hair damage by a permanent agent may be incurred since at least 40 minutes are required to complete hair curling process. This brings about discomfort and inconvenience due to the curling devices placed on the hair during the process.
[ Simple Molding Process ]
Our innovative product creates a new perm method of rod-free and band-free technique, which comprises the following application steps;
[1] Coating a reducing composition comprising a reducing agent and a molding stimulant on the hair
[2] Curling hair coated with the reducing composition
[3] Coating a molding composition induced to react with the molding stimulant over the hair curled in order to mold the hair
[4] Coating a softening composition over the hair molded to stop the molding process and
[5] Washing hair coated with the softening composition
Our new perm method has a very remarkable feature originated from the technology of conferring the self-molding ability on our permanent agent. Our permanent agent includes a molding stimulant as main component that can mold any object with some elasticity and hardness. And our technology also enables the molding process to be a rod-free and band-free process since the self-molding agent inherently works for hair wave to be fixed during the process. That is why our permanent agent is very easy to get any desired hair mode in less time than it takes to apply in a conventional way without additional hair curling devices.

- One set is composed of 8 sticks in total. The size of the thickest 3 sticks is as same as that of a plaster roll; the other 5 sticks have the uniform size of general 1.3.5.7 rods.

1. Volume perm
- For volume on the root area, you should keep a winding degree.
- Don’t use a thick stick for volume. For example, if you use one of the
thick sticks from No. 1 to 4 for volume on the root area, it will be hard to
keep them and the stick will get less effective.
- For the area where you want to have volume, you should thinly divide
the area. If you divide the width of the general rod perms into 3 parts
and then winding, then the result is much better. Since the head is
a round shape, it is most beneficial when you do winding at 90 degrees for each
2. Wave perm
- Please don’t use No. 1, 2, and 3 to wave hair.
- The stick is a tool to check only the size of the wave. The elasticity of the wave, the length of time it will stay in, and the level of tightness
are closely related to the number of rotations.
- As with Angel Perm (Setting Perm Effect), when you make a curl on a certain part using a big stick, it enlarges the external diameter
and it does not seem that the curl properly stays in after completion. At that moment, finish winding to hold hair with 7 to 9, but use
sticks No. 6 to 8.degree.
3. Straight
- Please don’t use No. 1, 2, and 3 to wave hair. - When you roll and wind hair with the biggest stick in order to make the hair straight,
it will make waves if you roll the hair more than twice. (Please finish with one straight board.)
- It is the same for other procedures and you should create tension continuously until the customer feels the root of hair being pulled.
- Unlike other perm products, since our product doesn’t contract momentary as the perm spreads over hair (the hair, when heated,
is more likely to do that), it will be more effective to straighten hair than others.
4. Volume + Wave
- Create volume in the root areas first and then spread the shape accelerator, winding the rest of hairs with the desired size of stick
without removing the sticks already set in. When you spread the shape accelerator, two rolls should be formed by using the stick,
No. 8. (Generally, it is unusual that the waves in the roots are thicker. The area between the root areas and the rest should be curled
with either the combination of No. 7 and No. 4 or No. 8 and No.5 in the size of stick.). You must simultaneously remove the sticks.
5. Volume + Straight
- While you are following the Type 4 aforementioned and if you apply the stick, either the combination of No. 8 with No. 2 or the
combination of No. 7 with No. 1, the roots will have volume, but the rest will be straight.
